From berry stained lips to sunken cheekbones, this season it is all about releasing your inner vampire! So here’s a makeup tutorial from the Mirror Mirror photo shoot from Label issue five to get you started.

- Start by applying a thin layer of foundation. For a more ‘vampy’ look you could use a foundation that is a shade lighter than your complexion but be sure to blend down the neck for an even skin tone. Apply concealer to cover blemishes and any dark circles around the eyes for completely flawless skin.
- For this look the focus is on the lips so keep the eyes simple. Start by covering the whole lid in a light brown/copper eye shadow. Then, to add depth, take a darker brown into the socket and along the lower lash line. Highlight by using a cream eye shadow along the brow bone, just below the eyebrow.
- Line the upper and lower lash line with black liquid eyeliner to accentuate the eye. Generously apply mascara to the top and bottom lashes for a full on glam look.
- For contouring around the face, use a slightly darker blusher than usual in a berry pink/purple shade depending on your skin tone. Brush under the cheekbones, along the jawbone and lightly at a 45-degree angle up from your eye to create a sculptured look.
- Finally, for this season, choose a dark shade of lipstick depending on how brave you’re feeling! There’s so much out there at the moment, anything from dark browns to purples. For this look, we used a burgundy colour, which is bang on trend. To make sure the lipstick lasts, draw around the lips with a lip pencil first and then colour in with the lipstick. If you don’t have a lip pencil, use a thin brush to get a crisp line around the edge of the lips before filling in.
Top Tips
Always keep your lipstick with you to top up or in case of smudging. You don’t want to be left with patchy lips on a night out!
For an even more gothic glamour look, you could create a smoky eye by building on the brown with black eye shadow or even some purple tones and applying the eyeliner thicker. But be careful how dark you go. It is usually said to go dark on either lips or eyes; you don’t want to look like you’re made up for Halloween!
