Label goes you the lowdown on your candidates for media chair: Chris Leroux, Meg Jocson-Ong and Ed Radford. (Answers given in alphabetical order of first name) How do you feel this last year has gone? Do you think each section has been successful? Chris: I think we’ve made a lot of progress over the past year. Firstly, LSUTV, have created two brand new shows, with regular volunteers! Then Lens, just gets better and better with training as well as photos. LCR has many more regular shows and the quality of that is just fantastic! Finally, but certainly not least, Label have…
Returning Label volunteer, Chris Leroux, gives a broader discussion of his views on Halls and reflects on the difficulties of controversy in journalism. Some of you might have noticed that I wrote an article about how living in Halls for a second year may have not been the best experience in my life. When I wrote it, I had no idea the reaction I’d get. Indeed, I felt it would shrink into obscurity as soon as it was published, lost at the back of the internet full of videos and memes. How wrong I was, the article I wrote…
Volunteer writer, Abby Clapson, brings us a look at what she considers to be the best night out in Loughborough. As a first-year undergraduate student at Loughborough University, I have tried out just about every restaurant, bar, and club in town – ticking most off the list during fresher’s week. Consequently, I am here to give you an insight into the best night out on offer in Loughborough. The favourite night for many is Saturday in town. With the Union being closed most of the time, if you’re feeling like having a night out on the weekend then Firefly…

Our returning volunteer, Meg Jocson-Ong, gives us her view on the ASMR craze. Autonomous sensory meridian response (or ASMR) has become an online sensation in the past five years. Popularised by mostly girls in their pre-teen years, this internet hit has taken over the world by storm and honestly, taken over my entire Instagram timeline. Personally, I have always found ASMR videos and clips very intriguing and interesting. From hair cuts to slime, I’ve always thought of them as a relaxing tool to help me with anxiety and uneasiness. Anyone who knows me well will know that I enjoy…

Label volunteer, Annie Bradshaw, brings you our latest sports piece on the Indoor Athletic Championships. The European Indoor Athletic Championships went ahead in Glasgow last week and it was definitely one to remember; with the Brits coming second in the medals table to Poland, gaining the most medals overall and landing their record indoor medal tally. Laura Muir was the star of the weekend on her home turf, winning her second European indoor double, in both the 1500m and 3000m. Not only was she the first to win both events in the history of the competition, but she did so with…
