Loughborough 2nds had begun the season in promising fashion, with two wins and a draw from their opening three matches. A terrific opening day victory over Warwick 1st’s was followed by a valuable draw in Nottingham, before a 12-0 demolition of Newcastle. Loughborough’s first home game of the season saw them fight bravely against the University of Stirling but ultimately they weren’t able to stop the Clansmen, who’s big plays got them the points they needed on the board. Stirling took a win 26-7, and currently sit top of the league. Loughborough 1st team made it four wins from four matches in the BUCS Premier B North with a hard-fought victory over Stirling 2s, maintaining their 100% start to the season. The final score in a tight encounter that hung in the balance throughout the tie was 8-4, a winning margin that is becoming something of a habit for the team, with all their victories this season arriving via that score line.
