The last few weeks have been an absolute whirlwind. Media has been well and truly manic, and we’re all getting to grips with our new roles. With the second issue (or first for many of you, view our Freshers’ Special here) out on Monday, Label have been really rather busy since way before freshers!
I’d like to give a special mention to our design team, who’ve really thrown themselves in at the deep end, creating interesting, innovative designs and pages for the magazines, featured images for the website and helping out with our Instagram account with amazing animations!
In the last couple of weeks, we’ve made it onto screens in the union, had over 12,000 views on Label online articles over freshers alone and been part of interviews with five celebrity freshers’ acts! All in all, everything is going well and the committee are really starting to get a feel for the world of media, not just Label, with various volunteers getting involved with other sections too. Safe to say with many of the Label committee at the moment, I feel like a proud mother.
I cannot wait to see what this year holds for Label, hopefully great success, many new readers and greater on- campus presence! You’ll be able to find out about how to get involved with Label and the rest of LSU Media in the piazza on Sunday 11th October, 7-9pm at Make Your Mark. Issue 1 is available on campus on Monday (or at Make Your Mark on Sunday) and is a “Music Special”, including interviews from three of the Freshers Ball acts and an interview with a DBE act. We also have our first Style Shoot of the year, the first Label Illustration Competition Winner and plenty more!
