Loughborough Football Club has today announced that their Chairman and long standing member of the club, Peter Simmons is set to leave after 7 years involvement with Loughborough Football.

After such a long contribution to arguable one of the best Athletic Union Clubs, it will be difficult for the club to fill the boots of Simmons who has held a central role as club Chairman as well as coach of the U19s side when he departs in the summer.

Simmons told the club's official website:

"It’s been a decision I have been weighing up for a long time now. With a University club especially, you are custodians of an institution for the time you are here. It is time for the next generation to take us forward in this fantastic facility."

"I leave the club in great shape and under a fantastic head coach. Hopefully in someway I have made a difference during my time here and I will still be involved in the alumni no doubt."

The announcement has been made in light of tomorrow’s (Friday) game against Tottenham U18s which marks the opening of the new Holywell Stadium.
