The second instalment of the ever-growing and ever popular Speech Bubble is confirmed to land on Monday 17th March at Cognito’s bar; where fellow students, members of the public and some special guests will take to the stage to entertain the audience with the art of spoken word. Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30 start but if this event is anything like the last, tickets and spaces will go fast!

As December’s event proved, the Speech Bubble is a culture event not to be missed. With a relaxed atmosphere, the show is a great starter for budding spoken word artists and poets to present their skills and learn their craft. This coupled with the opportunity to see two professionals perform in the same place makes the show a hot ticket.

When asked how this edition would top the previous, Liam Peoples (the man behind the event) had this to say,

“Two reasons. Firstly, we have two great headliners lined up for the evening who are sure to absolutely smash it! Secondly, December's Speech bubble was the first event of its kind that I have ever organised.”

With experience behind him and vast amount of planning, it seems Liam is taking care of exceeding our expectations.

The audience will be treated to two headliners, Michelle 'Mother' Hubbard and Harry Baker. Michelle is an established and talented poet who currently runs her own poetry night known as 'Blackdrop' in Nottingham. Harry is a former performer at the Speech Bubble and despite his young age he has earned the following accolades: 2010 London Slam Champion, 2011 U.K. Slam Champion, 2011 European Slam Champion, and 2012 World Slam Champion.

Make sure to get yourself, your friends, your family and anyone else you can down to Cognito’s bar at the student union. If you wish to have an open mic slot yourself, send a message to the Speech Bubble Facebook page by searching ‘SPEECH BUBBLE PRESENTS MICHELLE 'MOTHER' HUBBARD AND FORMER WORLD POETRY SLAM CHAMPION HARRY BAKER’ or contact the event organiser, Liam Peoples at [email protected]
