Adele has announced the cancellation of ten concert dates in the USA after not recovering from problems with her vocal cords. Delivering the news to her fans via her website’s blog, the Tottenham-born singer will not begin her tour in New Jersey this coming Friday.
Advised by her physician to rest her vocal cords, after small haemorrhage appeared following a case of laryngitis earlier this year, Adele has been quoted as heartbroken and sincerely apologetic to her fans in the US via her online blog.
The now multi-platinum selling star said: “I'm gonna be starting up vocal rehab as soon as, and start building my overall stamina in my voice, body and mind. I will be back and I'm gonna smash the ball out the park once I'm touring again!”
Adele has recently been the only nominee at the Mercury Music Prize ceremony not to be able to perform on the night. PJ Harvey won the prize, ten years after they first won the award back in 2001.
