With the charts now firmly set on a Friday release, we thought rather than run down the top 40, we’d take a look back at some of the best number ones since music began (well, charts began). Bringing you everything from eighties classics to noughties bangers, make sure to be here, every Friday, for a flashback of some of the biggest chart hits.

Up this week: ‘Praise You’ – Fatboy Slim

Carry on the theme of last week and the banger that was ‘Return of the Mack’, this week we return with another house party, dance floor ready, festival going tune. Coming off the now famed album You’ve Come A Long Way Baby, which brought us tracks such as ‘Right Here, Right Now’ and ‘The Rockafeller Skank’, ‘Praise You’ is a master piece of dance music.

Featuring a number of samples, from piano, to vocals and guitar tabs, ‘Praise You’ flew into the top spot in the January of 1999, before being knocked off, a week later, by 911’s ‘A Little Bit More’ (really? REALLY!). A constant in any nightclub, ‘Praise You’ set the world onto the genius of Norman Cook, and still remains his sole number one under the stage name of Fatboy Slim.

So get out there people, and get loud with this 90s classic.
