The best DJ ‘in the world’ is coming to LSU, but you probably wont get to see him…

The Worlds Best DJ (2005,2006), Paul van Dyk headlines the first external promoters event at LSU in eight years. The Grammy award winning DJ will be leading celebrations rounding off 20 years of ‘Passion’.

Passion kicked off in 1995 as an exclusive EDM (Electronic Dance Music) night in Leicestershire. A night as old (or nearly as old) as most of us students, are we really likely to have followed this DJ anyway? For more, you can head over to: http://www.passionuk.com/

The catch, it’s right in the middle of our University Easter Holidays. April 5th is Easter Sunday, so it’s unlikely many of the Loughborough student population will be around to attend. The Passion website advertises the event as starting at 6pm!

At the (NUS) price of just over £20, it’s quite high priced for students, especially if it means returning to Loughborough during the middle of the Easter break. Bank holidays are traditionally big nights to party on, but with a potential eight hour long set, how many people could hack the whole thing? Hosting 3 different rooms, there will be a plethora of DJs performing their sets, whether it be for the usual LSU crowd, or not.

Leicestershire locals will be a key demographic for the event, and students at home in Leicester and Nottingham will be shown off the ‘Best Big Student Union Venue’ in the country.
