All out of love and planning to spend next Thursday in alone? Panicking about where to take your hot date on February 14th? Fear not, an AU club may just be about to save the day.

Thursday 14th, Friday 15th and Saturday 16th February sees one of Loughborough’s largest and most successful clubs put on a performance for family, friends and the people of Loughborough: LSU Dance’ presents: Dancing through the Ages.

Taking place at the Cope Auditorium running over three evenings, the performance works as an ideal opportunity for dancers to present material they’ve been working hard on since September; performing pieces in a variety of styles ranging from Hip-Hop and Jazz to Tap, Ballet and Contemporary.

Pieces will be presented in these styles as part of novice, intermediate and advanced classes as well as group and solo performances put together by the members themselves. The show displays eighteen-hours of weekly rehearsals and sixteen separate classes, mixing large scale group pieces with over 120 dancers, to solos and duets.

Discussing her creative vision, the Show’s co-ordinator Caz Buckland reveals just why this year’s theme is set to be special:

“This year we are getting into our time machines and taking you back to some of the most iconic dance moments in both style and music. From old school Jazz to a Latin Fiasco.

What better way to celebrate dance than through looking to the dancing greats of past years. We have numbers dedicated to movie evolution, Broadway delights, Latin crazies and to the king of pop, MJ. Every piece expressing a musical development as the years go by.

Each dancer has been tightening their ribbons, donning their leotards and perfecting their pirouettes to create for you this fantastic event. So step into our dancing Tardis and we hope you’ll enjoy the show!”

LSU Dance- Dancing through the Ages takes place at the Cope Auditorium on the 14th, 15th and 16th February. Tickets can be purchased from www.lufbra.net/dance and are £6 for Adults and £4 for Concessions.
