During the last year, the hair doughnut has became a have must accessory to create an incredibly popular and fashionable big bun look. It’s a style that works for any occasion, casual or glamorous and is also super-easy to master.
You Will Need
- Doughnut hair piece to match your hair colour
- Hair spray
- Gel
- Bobbles
- Plenty of Grips
Side Bun
The side bun is a great choice if you want to create an elegant, sleek and sophisticate look.
- Part your hair on the side and then tie your hair on one side.
- Pull your hair up into a low ponytail.
- Pull your ponytail through the center of the doughnut until the doughnut is at the base.
- Split your ponytail so that it's covering the doughnut in every direction.
- Use an elastic band to secure the hair around the sock.
- Tuck/pin the loose hairs around the bun.
- Fix with the hairspray and use some gel to make the front hair sleek.
Big Messy Bun
A big messy bun is a great option for both day and night looks. It will look simple and chic during the day but also fun and fabulous in the evening especially if the look will be finished wearing a more daring makeup and some bigger earrings or a necklace as it beautifully reveals the facial bone structure and shoulders.
- Pull your hair up into a very high ponytail.
- Make the front hair very sleek using hairspray and brushing with the small combs; it will create a nice contrast with the messy bun.
- Pull your ponytail through the center of the doughnut until the doughnut is at the base.
- Hide the donut by wrapping your hair around it. Find the center of your ponytail and wrap your hair around evenly to cover the donut. Use pins to secure the ends of your hair. You can also tuck your hair under the donut to keep it neat.
- Fix it with a bit of hairspray.
