Jack Heskett claimed tonight: “I’ll be out in force, I’ve got all my campaign team out, got loads of sweets going out” ahead of the election’s first Union night, Stupid Tuesday.

When asked to elaborate on what he had planned for Stupid Tuesday, Heskett was slightly more cautious; “nothing special, that’s coming, [there’s] plenty of time left, I’m not going to tire myself and my campaign team out too soon so look out for us.”

Jack ‘Tintin’ Heskett is already the Welfare Development Officer on the Union Executive and is currently re-running for the new role of VP Welfare and Diversity which has now become a full time, paid position.

When asked about his Tintin theme, Heskett told Label: “I’ve used Tintin before. When I first got here I was called Tintin because there were three people on my floor who were called Jack so Tintin was obvious. I used it for Exec last year, I’ve used it for Exec this year, and I do have the pointy, ginger hair. I think I pretty much look like him. Everyone when I’m out says I do look like him and I’ve obviously got little Snowy with me as well.”

Heskett also gave his reaction to David Haines' three-hour ban which was given out by the Elections Committee on Tuesday afternoon.

“It happens. I saw the article, it happens, people make mistakes, people on campaign teams make mistakes. At the end of the day it’s three hours, it’s not too bad, it could have been a lot worse and he can get on with it. He still stands a really good chance, we’ve still got a lot of campaign time left so who knows.”

As well as David Haines, Heskett is also running against Georgina Court for the position of VP Welfare and Diversity.
