As of November 2012, the University’s English and Drama department has set up its very own theatre company. Appropriately named the ‘English and Drama Theatre Company’, they intend to put on plays directly related to the department’s course structure. Although the company is only open for students of the English and Drama department, the plays will be open for all to attend.

One of the main things that sets this company apart from the other University drama societies (the  excellent Stage Soc and Shakespeare Soc) is its ability to use the department’s facilities, namely Martin Hall theatre, a fully equipped, professional theatre that previously had not been available for the student’s extracurricular use.

On Wednesday 21st, the Company will be holding an audition workshop for English and Drama students where they will be announcing their first play, so look out for more information about their productions around campus and on their Facebook page here or on Twitter @ EnDTheatreComp
