Presidential candidate, Ali Baba Shahid, was taken to hospital in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Label spoke to his campaign manager, Sudip Chakraborty, who told us that he is suffering from a "high fever" and is currently sleeping under medication at Leicester Royal Infirmary. 

Campus security confirmed at 2.40pm this afternoon that an ambulance took Shahid, a resident of John Phillips Hall, away at 5.30am on February 22. They told Pete Childs, elections returning officer, that he had a "severe bout of flu".
