Halloween on the High Street

At this time of year everyone wants to dress to scare.  However, this year why not turn your heads in the direction in high street Halloween fashion. Here is our guide of where to shop and what to buy this season!  Hover over the names of shops and you'll be taken straight to their website…

Fancy dress will never fall out of fashion, but this year Halloween can be taken one step further and incorporated in our day-to-day wardrobe. So, instead of hiding behind masks and under bed sheets pretending to be a ghost, why don’t you make a statement in our Halloween favourites!  Leather and lace is everywhere this season and is perfect around Halloween. We love the velvet crop tops available on misguided.co.uk: the dark reds, burgundy and blacks create a chic yet seasonal style and will be a wardrobe staple for the rest of winter. The velvet leggings are another wardrobe must have this autumn/winter and definitely maintain the Halloween spirit.

Topshop have also embraced the idea of creepy chic, their velvet skirts, feather dresses and lace leotards are exactly what every girl needs in their wardrobe. They’ve taken their Halloween merchandise to another level, with Trick or Treat iphone covers perfect for both male and females. Topshop’s make-up range have also released new lipstick colours perfect for this season: dark purple, plum and red lips create the vampire look that everyone should achieve this Halloween.

Knitwear is perfect for Christmas!  However, until then why not purchase some Halloween knitwear treats.  ASOS have a range of skeleton gloves, cat and pumpkin beanie hats and headbands. Missguided are also advertising skeleton rings and religious jewellery: cross rings and spiked necklaces are big this season and perfect to create the Halloween look during the day. Studded boots and handbags are also everywhere and can be added to all fancy dress costumes to ensure you stay stylish this Halloween.

We all know that not all Halloween costumes are scary, following the Mean Girls tradition why not check out Miss Selfridge for some feminine and delicate Halloween inspiration. Their masquerade masks are perfect for an alternative and girlish Halloween, or the short frilly religious patterned socks are ideal just to accessorise your day to day wardrobe.

Use Halloween as an excuse to shop this year, don’t limit yourself to cheesy Halloween fancy dress. Just add some blood to these chic Halloween wardrobe must haves or use them throughout the season to keep you scary, warm and fashionable.
