Song of the week this week goes to Passion Pit with their 2012 track “It’s Not My Fault I’m Happy”. Heard of it? Didn’t think you would as it was not even released as a single from the album from which it comes, entitled Gossamer. “It’s Not My Fault I’m Happy” combines Passion Pit’s unique sound with a heavy use of percussion and bass. They use a wide range of instruments to create an energetic and dynamic track. While the lyrics may be unclear at times, they nonetheless tell a deep story about anger and separation. Passion Pit may not top the charts every week, but they are certainly a band to look out for, and take this track as your starting point.
