Returning volunteer, Paul Thompson, shares the importance of everyone’s vote in the upcomping general election. 1994 isn’t that long ago. Nirvana, Jurassic Park, the World Wide Web, and the birth of Harry Kane all pre-date it. And yet, 25 years ago, South Africa was only just having its first fully democratic election. A quick google image search will show you photos of thousands of people queueing for miles and miles to have their voice heard. The sacrifices Nelson Mandela and others made to allow black South Africans the same rights as white South Africans were not lost on the general…
November General Election Rundown Label Volunteer, Maciek Anielski, gives us the latest details in the months leading up to the general election. The Brexit Party stands down in Conservative held constituencies. Parties pledge more money for the NHS. Labour calls for nationalisation of broadband. Lib Dems accused of misleading voters. The General Election is well underway, and it seems as though the prospect of a Boris Johnson led government is stimulating support for the Conservatives, with a massive jump seen at the time of his take-over. The Conservatives currently boast an 11-point lead in national polls, propped up by Nigel Farage’s decision to…
Maria Petreanu brings us a culture guide to her hometown, offering all the insider information you’d need for an affordable city-break get away. Whether you love winter sports, sightseeing, shopping or heart-warming food, Brasov has got something for everyone and makes for a lovely affordable city-break destination. Culture lovers will…

Volunteer writer, Sofia Azcona, gives her insight into the new Joker adaptation, which has drawn praise and controversy across the board. You don’t need to be an avid comic book fan or action movie lover to know of the Joker: Batman’s arch-nemesis and Gotham’s Clown Prince of Crime. A criminal mastermind with a sadistic sense of humor, cinema has shown us many different Jokers throughout the decades (some better than others). Cesar Romero’s Joker was the campy prankster, Jack Nicholson the 80s mobster, Heath Ledger the terrorist. So what could Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker bring to the table that we haven’t…
