Loughborough University has confirmed that there will be a graduation ceremony for students who graduated in 2020, on the 19th July 2021. The announcement follows a statement released by the Vice-Chancellor on the 23rd February relating to the return to campus as part of the government’s ‘unlocking’ of the UK in the wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic. In an email to all students, Loughborough University has confirmed that if the review from the government is positive, all Loughborough students will be invited to return to campus after Easter. This follows the release of the government’s roadmap out of COVID-19 restrictions on the 22nd February; allowing in-person teaching to return for students on practical courses from the 8th March, and a “review” to take place at the “end of the Easter holidays” for all other students. Prime Minister Boris Johnson has today announced that students on practical courses, and those requiring on-site facilities or assessments will return to University campuses from the 8th of March. Students who do not fit the criteria will remain being taught online for the forseeable future, with a review of “the options at the end of the Easter Holidays”, the Prime Minister told Parliament.
