It was anybody's race ahead of the season opener at Melbourne last week. McLaren lacked confidence and Red Bull were apprehensive, but Ferrari aimed to impress as they are allegedly '200 times better', and Mercedes could easily be a surprise contender. Australian Grand Prix Qualifying saw three time world champion Sebastian Vettel take pole with team mate Marc Webber in second for a Red bull one-two.
