There is delight for five current Loughborough MCCU students following their selection for the England women’s squad to defend the Ashes in Australia, starting in the New Year. Georgia Elwiss, Amy Jones, Natalie Sciver, Anya Shrubsole and Lauren Winfield have been named in both the Test and ODI squads for the tour.
An instant music ban has been imposed against the proprietor (Infinite Leisure Ltd) of Mansion, Loughborough, after a Phonographic Performance Ltd (PPL) inspection revealed that the club had been playing some music without an appropriate licence. PPL collects and distributes money on behalf of record companies and performers. During the inspection the club is alleged to have played Scouting For Girls̢���� She̢����s So Lovely, Taio Cruz̢����s Troublemaker and Bastille̢����s Pompeii, all artists covered by PPL licences.
