On 24rd February 2015, Room One heated up as the second of the Exec Election Bubble Debates took place. The evening was once again hosted by Nina Blissett on stage and Dave Thompson in the crowd, talking to the panel and sharing social media interactions. Nina brought us an introduction to the evening, saying that “we want candidates to clash” and that this would be the “hardest job interview of their lives”. We were also introduced to the panel; Sarah Haar- Ex- VP Action, Axelle Savary- Butler Court Hall Chair, George Hones- former Rigg Rut Hall Chair and Hamza Modi-…

Many of you may have seen a rather interesting post made on Sunday evening on the official Loughborough Fresher’s page. I am of course referring to the statement by Mark Osmond that Bryn Wilkes should not be allowed to re-run for the position of VP Media. This of course caused a lot of uproar, especially from Axelle Savary who made a very good point regarding Isobel Ford, who is currently on for her second term. Axelle said: “because of this (she) has been able to push things further such as better decision and don’t cross the line, as well as…
Label have been informed that candidate Robyn Varley, hoping to be your next VP Rag, has received a ban due to negative campaigning. “The following candidate received a campaign ban for in-direct negative campaigning: Robyn Varley. The ban was given for 5 and 1/2 hours with effect from 10:30pm until 4am (Wednesday 25th Feb)”-Salomi Senthilkumar, Chair of Union Affairs Meaning Varley missed out on campaigning over Stupid Tuesday. This is the second ban Varley has received so far. Does missing a night out mean that Varley will miss out on votes? Let us know what you think.
Label met up with Kailey Hazeldene in order to find out more about her new ideas for this role, and how she can help improve our educational experience here at Loughborough. Why are you running for this position? I was a rep for two years and I’m a Programme president at the moment. So I feel like it is a natural progression for me to go for VP Education. I go to most of the meetings now and I enjoy going to them. I find that’s what I enjoy doing more than my degree at the moment. I find I’m…
Label interviewed self-proclaimed “Action Keeno” Rosie Harvey, in order to find out what makes her suited to this role, and what new ideas she will be bringing if she was to be elected VP Action. Why are you running for this position? Because I’m so passionate about the section, I’m a massive action keeno, I’ve been a part of everything and done almost every project and seen the difference that Action makes to other people. We have so much fun doing it and I just want to be able to communicate that to other people and make sure that they…
