Union President candidate Ellie Read has outlined the ‘simple’ plans she has for her campaign in the Executive elections period, which began this evening.

“I’ve tried to organise as much as I can in advance as I think you don’t want to running around trying to organise things you could have done before… I’ll be trying to meet as many people and listen to what they want to happen as I can in the next two weeks.”

She hoped this simple plan “would be successful” but also wished her competitor, Ali Shahid, the best of luck and said she thought he was “a really nice guy”.

The idea behind Read’s campaign is centred around the well known brand Apple, and the fact she aims to listen to the students of Loughborough. If you meet her she states she is willing to answer any questions or comments and “would love to hear from you”.

Read finished by discussing her ‘three key buzz words’. She wants to ‘believe’, ‘act’ and ‘exceed’ by listening to what students want, acting on that and working as hard as possible with all other sections to exceed “how good Loughborough already is”.

Ellie Read is running against Ali Shahid in the battle for Union President for the upcoming academic year.
