“Oh wow!”
The first two words spoken by Taz ‘Fame’ Siddeeque after she came off stage at Union Hustings on Tuesday seemed to sum up perfectly the emotions of the event.
Despite being docked 15 seconds of her speech for a transgression at LCR Hustings on Saturday and despite being rattled with nerves, Siddeeque revealed the rollercoaster of emotions to LCR.
“I was OK before I went up but you just get so nervous.
“We had a lot of questions and I just hope that students got what I wanted across.”
With curtailed speaking time, Siddeeque said that she made all of the points she wanted to, despite running out of time before her last sentence.
“I was going to say, ‘We will experience the world next year. We will make better decisions next year and we will better student life,’” said the International Relations student.
With the endorphins clearly pumping, she reflected on the first eight days of the campaign.
“It’s been an absolute experience. I’ve loved every single second of it. It’s tiring but it’s worth it.”
Taz Fame is running against Rebecca ‘Smile’ Bridger for the position of Union President.
