Today Times Higher Education announced that Loughborough has been awarded first place for student experience for 2016. The survey is conducted every year, and nearly 15,000 students take part.

According to the Telegraph, the survey has 21 different sections, including those about staff, lectures, atmosphere and facilities. Loughborough either met or exceeded the average in all of these separate categories, leading to us gaining the top spot. The University also gained first place in four sections as well as being first overall.

The editor of Times Higher Education deduced that the survey demonstrates:

“students are becoming more professional in their approach to their studies. They are investing more in their education and are far more clear-eyed in what they expect from their university.”

In an article released by the University, Jess Excell, the president of the Students’ Union, stated:

“By getting involved in some of the many activities available, from volunteering and fundraising, to sport, welfare and the arts, students develop important life and employability skills that enrich their Loughborough experience and set them up for life beyond the University.”

This accolade joins the numerous others Loughborough has won in the last few years, including WhatUni University of the Year last year, and 35 years unbeaten in BUCS.
