The evening of April 23rd saw Loughborough University attend the WhatUni Student Choice Awards 2015. Having being shortlisted for eight out of ten categories, including the overall university prize, Loughborough won 3 of the awards at the ceremony.

Loughborough University received the prize for the Best University in the country, as voted for by students in the WhatUni awards. LSU received the prize for the Best Students’ Union in the country, following the first prize for the Best University Accommodation. We also came 2nd in the UK for the Best Clubs and Societies Award, coming first in England and came 2nd (to Surrey) for University Facilities.

Members of our current Executive committee were present alongside Vice Chancellor Robert Allison to collect the awards, who will no doubt be thrilled with the outcome of the evening!

Loughborough won the award of Best University ahead of Swansea in third place, having won last year. We were also shortlisted in the following categories: ‘Student Support’, ‘Job Prospects’, and ‘Courses and Lecturers’. To be shortlisted, or even considered in the first place, over 100 reviews have to have been received by WhatUni on behalf of a University. With over 20,000 reviews sent in from across the country, Loughborough clearly shone and hence came out on top.
