Luigi Mangione has been charged with the first-degree murder of the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, Brian Thompson. The shooting occurred on the 4th of December in New York. Loughborough town is set for renovation this winter as plans have been released for a £1 million injection into the local area. The main areas set for improvement are the town centre and Queen’s Park. The town centre will receive electrical and lighting improvements. However, most improvements will be seen in Queen’s Park. The Government has announced their plans to raise the cap for university tuition fees. This will see the cap raise from £9,250 to £9,535 in the 2025/2026 academic year. Students are likely to be outraged by this rise as the Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer backed abolishing tuition fees when he ran for Labour leader in 2020.
