A stabbing has been reported to have occurred at Ashby Square in Loughborough town centre. Police were called to the area soon after 7pm yesterday. Multiple police vehicles set up cordons around the scene to prevent pedestrians and limit vehicles passing through. Police officers were seen scanning the floor with flashlights looking for a dropped weapon outside Phat Buns and near The Griffin. Luigi Mangione has been charged with the first-degree murder of the CEO of UnitedHealthcare, Brian Thompson. The shooting occurred on the 4th of December in New York. Loughborough town is set for renovation this winter as plans have been released for a £1 million injection into the local area. The main areas set for improvement are the town centre and Queen’s Park. The town centre will receive electrical and lighting improvements. However, most improvements will be seen in Queen’s Park.
