As many of you will be aware, Wednesday 3rd February was Durham Day, more commonly known around campus as ‘D-Day’. For those not in the know, ‘D-Day’ is the date in the BUCS calendar in which 16 AU teams from Durham University come to Loughborough and do battle with our very own AU clubs. The significance of this day is that Loughborough and Durham have been the two top teams in the BUCS standings every year since the 2011-12 academic year so this varsity day plays a significant role in the fight for top spot. Unfortunately Durham took the edge at the end of the day. Loughborough put in an amazing effort but could only win seven of the 16 match-ups, with Durham winning eight, and the golf being tied. All is not lost as Loughborough retain their place at the top of the BUCS table and will be looking forward in the coming weeks and months to maintain their dominance.
