Introducing the Label Illustration Competitions

Illustration is a fundamental part of Label’s design process. We have a fantastic team of illustrators who regularly contribute their own work to Label articles both online and in print. Label’s Head of Illustration, Greg Carter, introduces you to a new feature for this year, the Label Illustration Competitions.

This year we have an exciting new opportunity for Loughborough students; Label Illustration competitions. At the start of each month a new competition theme will be announced and students have two weeks to create a piece of work based on this theme from any medium, style or material.

The entries will be showcased on the Label Illustration Facebook page, where the voting will take place. You can vote for as many entries as you want, simply by 'liking' the photo. The competition closes near the end of the month and the winner is announced soon after.

The winning artist will get their own online Label article about them and their work, and also a few freebies! With the first competition (under the theme of 'Freshers') having been so successful, with 9 entries, I'm looking forward to seeing how it will progress over the year. With a range of different styles and themes there is such a vast and interesting mix of entries, where no two are the same

September’s winner has been announced, Fine Art student Sarah Hodgkiss won with her “Evolution of a Fresher” piece. To see the winning entry and to find out more about this student artist check out her winner’s profile at: http://www.lborosu.org.uk/media/label/article.php?id=1391
