Just a few days ago, 2006 X Factor winner Leona Lewis was announced as the new Body Shop activist and brand ambassador. She’s in good company; with Lily Cole was announced as the first brand ambassador in March last year.

Lewis, who has sold over twenty million records worldwide, will join the Body Shop campaign with NGO Cruelty Free International raising awareness about the EU ban on animal testing for cosmetics, which will come into action at the end of March this year.

The singer who is a vegetarian and animal rights activist told the Daily Mail: "I’m passionate about beauty and I’m all about animal rights and Community Fair Trade. As a result, I’m really conscious of where the products that I use come from. The Body Shop sells cruelty-free, ethically-sourced products containing amazing Community Fair Trade ingredients."

Leona will not only raise the awareness about cruelty free beauty, she has also collaborated with the Body Shop to create 100% vegetarian range of cosmetics that will include two wearable colour palettes, lip glosses and musk perfume. “The Limited Edition Collection by Leona Lewis is a playful, fashion- forward collection that’s perfect for spring, bursting with free spirit and wearable shades for every skin tone.”

Leona Lewis for Body Shop hits stores on the March 26th. This is one collaboration that Style definitely wants to get their hands on! Beauty and ethics, what more could you want?
