The Martin Hall auditorium was hit by a storm of talent on Thursday night as AU Dance club offered an array of diverse performances, all in the name of charity.

Money was raised for the Fielding Ward at Northwick Park Hospital, out of respect for a fellow club member who holds the hospital close to her heart and has dedicated almost three years to dance since starting University. With an entry fee of £2 and a large selection of cakes on sale during the interval, a nice little sum was made for this section of the hospital that does fantastic things in caring for patients.

14 performances made an incredible show, packed with soloists such as Alyssia Jackson and hip-hop duets by Sami Carre & Katherine Marlow. The larger classes provided the audience with a taster of what they were going to perform in LSDC’s annual dance show, which is held on the 9th, 10th and 11th February next year. Bikers and ballerinas packed the stage, performing some amazing choreography to sensational songs, such as Everyone Wants to Rule the World and I’m Feeling Good.

Sisley Hamer, Chair of Loughborough AU Dance, said “We are really pleased to have been able to put on another performance opportunity for our members while raising money for a wonderful charity and even happier at how successful the night was! We hope in years to come the event grows and gets better and better every year!”

If you were one of the unfortunate ones who missed out on the Winter Showcase, then be sure to be one of the first to grab your tickets for our show in Feb – which will go on sale after Christmas.

After winning the prestigious award of ‘AU Club of the Month’, it would be fair to say that LSDC have smashed it this Semester! Good job guys!
