Yesterday Room One was the setting to not just a Hey Ewe, but to yet another Election event, this time the By-Elections result night! You voted in your thousands, 2845 votes were cast to be exact, and between boos from the audience and drinks being thrown at host, and current VP Union Affairs Liam Peoples, your new VP College and Union President were announced.
With R.O.N safely out of the running, Bhavik Mandalia was eliminated in the second round of the race for VP College, swiftly followed by Jessica Downs and Jack McShane. This left Ellis Jarvis the last woman (or man) standing, and she was welcomed into the already elected Exec team with rapturous applause.
Then, the big one, Union President was seconds away from being announced, for which 2845 votes were cast. The two candidates entered the stage to a mixture of jeers and cheers from the audience, and within seconds R.O.N and candidate Till Sieberth were eliminated. Jess Excell is your new Union President, and she too received thunderous applause from the audience.
So that’s it (or at least it should be) for another year. Your new Exec has been carefully selected and we are ready for a great year at LSU!
And we cannot forget to mention that YOUR votes have raised £1566 for the Nepal Earthquake Appeal, so thank you!
