Outshining Exeter University in the semi-final, Loughborough’s women came to the final round of the Championship with the support of a home crowd. In a close match the home side pushed their guests from Birmingham but fell just short of the gold medal. Emma Lawton was there for Label.

The latter part of the first half saw Loughborough gifted a few chances at equalising after they were awarded a string of penalty corners. It was a close second half, but Birmingham still dominated the possession. The away side were awarded a free pass in the seventh minute of the second half, but could not take advantage of it.
