Potentially the most unknown candidate, and arguably the least serious, after missing his scheduled media slot, Label finally got the chance to interview Chris McKenna before his appearance on The Bubble Debate. Dressed in tracksuit bottoms and a casual T-shirt before appearing on the formal hustings debate show, we asked Chris the five big questions and these were his responses:
1. What are the main reasons for you running to be VP: Finance and Commercial Services?
"I want to improve the financial situation of the Union and yeah, basically make everything easier for students so it's more affordable."
-
What do you think of Rory Mitchell, the current VP: Finance and is there anything you would plan to do differently if elected?
"I haven't researched much about Rory Mitchell. (After being prompted for more) I wouldn't do too much differently, I'd try and make things cheaper in the alcohol area."
-
What's your one main manifesto point?
"I'd like to make things very free for the Union and like make entry to the Union free for nights out, I think that's feasible."
-
Why should students vote for you to be the next VP: Finance over anyone else in Loughborough?
"Because I'm fun, I'm a real student and yeah that's about it."
-
In one sentence can you sum up what the position of VP: Finance and Commercial Services involves?
"No."
