A is for Awards Season: With the Oscars, Baftas and Brits all coming up in February it’s a great time to style spot the red carpet.

B is for Bowie: Making a return with a new song and with an exhibition devoted to him at the V&A this March, David Bowie is back in style. 

C is for Cropped: From jackets to trousers as the weather gets warmer, lengths are getting shorter. 

D is for Denim: Doubling up and dungarees are making a comeback, the more denim the better this spring/summer.

E is for Eighties Retro: Hi-top trainers, crop tops and scrunchies have all slowly been making a return on to the fashion scene and this season is the time to pull them all together and go all out ‘80s.

F is for Fitness Frenzy: Whether you’re working out or not, sports wear is the style to be seen in. With a bit more glamour than your tatty gym joggers; neon colours, mesh and luxe sweatshirts are staple items for this trend.

G is for Graphic Prints: Prints go crazy this season, with lots of pattern and some crazy clashes.

H is for H&M: Vanessa Paradis has just been announced as the face of H&M’s new Conscious Campaign; and with many big name collaborations last year, the Style Team look forward to seeing what they have up their sleeves for 2013.

I is for Iridescence: Shimmer and sheen were big on the catwalks as seen at Burberry Prorsum and Mary Katrantzou. Luckily for us students ASOS and Missguided both have cheaper versions online.

J is for Jil Sander: Making a return to the fashion house that she founded in 1973, after an eight-year absence, Jil Sander has some ambitious ideas for the future of her brand.

K is for Kimye versus K-Wills: With both Kim Kardashian and Kate Middleton expecting this July, it will be interesting to see who comes out top in the baby style stakes.

L is for Leather Nails: Released just before Christmas, Nails Inc. ‘Bling It On’ leather effect varnish is favourited by fashionista Alexa Chung and sold out in seconds in the US. Get it on their website www.nailsinc.com now!

M is for Men: The London Collections: Men shows at the beginning of January are the next big thing catering to the male fashion audience. See Style’s article in Label issue eight for more about them.

N is for Neon: Highlighter colours were all over the catwalk in both women’s and menswear; be brave and go bright. 

O is for Oriental Opulence: With pretty floral patterns and simple, kimono-like shaped dresses, designers took influence from the East this season.

P is for Pop Art Packaging: A number of beauty brands have embraced comic-book-art this season, with MAC, Nars and Kiehl’s all collaborating with iconic artists or comics to produce some eye-popping collections. 

Q is for Queen of Style: Cara Delevingne is the model of the moment, with not only the looks but she also has the personality. Her fun and energetic ways have made her a huge hit with industry insiders. Expect to see her a lot more this year.

R is for Rihanna for River Island: Debuting at London Fashion Week on February 16th, Rihanna’s first clothing collection is set to be a big hit, arriving in stores on March 5th.

S is for Stripes: Stripes were seen all over the catwalk, a pair of monochrome striped trousers is perfect for staying on trend.

T is for Transparency: Sheer fabrics and lace were big on the catwalks.

U is for Unique by Topshop: Challenging the norm of fashion week with digital and social interaction, Topshop Unique’s show was streamed live on the Internet with viewers able to pre-order the clothes and make up. Watch out for other forward thinking ideas from them in the near future.

V is for Vuitton: Louis Vuitton pulled out a spectacular show to debut his SS13 collection, which included the use of four escalators and a yellow and white checked catwalk. The clothes also focused on checks, of all different sizes creating some striking optical illusions.

W is for Wild West: Fringing and cowboy boots hit the high street last season and are staying on trend through SS13, invest in an embroidered denim shirt to keep this style up to date.

X is for XXL: Oversized tailoring and lots of volume are big this season (excuse the pun). Stay cozy while it’s still cold in big jumpers and lots of layers.

Y is for Young Models: Models seem to be getting younger and younger with Celebrity offspring now getting in on the action too. See Style editor Chloe’s article in Label issue seven and now up online too, discussing ‘How Young Is Too Young?’

Z is for Zoo Animal Prints: Zebra, giraffe, leopard and tiger prints are all making an appearance this season. Go wild with them!
