After a successful performance against South Africa last Saturday, Henry Pyrgos is set to make the starting line up against Scotland’s next opponents, Tonga this Saturday, November 24th.
The ex-Loughborough Rugby Union 1st XV member impressed Scotland coach and ex-Loughborough man Andy Robinson with an impressive try, when he made only his second full-international appearance as a substitute.
Although scoring only moments after getting on the pitch, Pyrgos’ try was not enough to secure a win for the Highlanders who lost the home game 10-21.
Glasgow Warriors scrumhalf will be looking to build on last weekend’s Man of the Match performance to secure his permanent spot in the team once the EMC test finishes. With Scotland looking to build on their 100% winning record at Pittodrie, who knows what will happen?
Speaking of Henry’s success, current 1st XV captain Chris Kinlock commented: “Henry’s success with Glasgow and now on the international front with Scotland is a terrific achievement and a huge testament to him. Historically, Loughborough has produced a great number of internationalists and Henry thoroughly deserves to be up on that list. One cannot underestimate the role Loughborough rugby had on Henrys development, helping him and many others realise their goal of playing professionally and it is inspiring seeing what hard work can achieve. We wish him all the best this weekend!
Loughborough Students have a massive National League game versus Ealing this Saturday, a league that Henry helped us to get to, free entry for all students and the support would be much appreciated!”
With all of the home nations in action this weekend, Loughborough students will be looking to build on their recent success, they play Ealing with a 2.00pm KO on the 1st XV pitch next to Powerbase. All students can watch for free this weekend if they present their student card. Get down and support the boys!
