Coffee is a drink that can be made in various ways, using different ingredients and can be served either hot or cold. For many, a cup of coffee is seen as an essential in their everyday life. For students, coffee can be used to the boost the energy needed in order to get through a busy day filled with lectures, sports and additional extra-curricular activities. While it is important to treat yourself once in a while, as students budgeting is important, which means that we can’t always always afford buying coffee’s on a daily basis. However, we also don’t want to miss out on getting that much needed caffeine dose. To help avoid breaking the bank, here are a few simple coffee recipes that can be made at home to help you enjoy a good coffee, improve your coffee-making skills, and also save some money.

Cinnamon coffee
This recipe is truly as simple as it sounds. You begin, by making a regular coffee, as you like it, and sprinkle a little cinnamon powder over it. You can buy cinnamon at any local stores, and it can make a great addition to your daily coffee.
Iced coffee
Making yourself an iced coffee on a hot day can be a wonderful treat. This recipe also keeps for a day or two when stored in a fridge, giving you an on-hand supply of coffee during this time period, so feel free to make extra!
Begin by making your regular coffee however, instead of adding milk or creamer, add some condensed milk. Slowly add condensed milk until it turns the coffee your desired colour but remember to stir the condensed milk in thoroughly, this ensures you don’t end up with an overly bitter or sweet coffee. Adding ½ teaspoon of vanilla extract can add a nice twist to the coffee as well. Give the coffee a few minutes to cool and add some ice cubes if you’re planning on instantly indulging. If not, store it in the fridge for around 30-45 minutes and enjoy it chilled.
Iced soy milk matcha tea
This recipe is for the devout matcha lovers. This quick recipe means that you can make your own matcha, and avoid the feeling of guilt that plagues you when you indulge in a store bought matcha that sometimes costs up to £6! Pour soy milk and matcha into a blender and blend for around 30 seconds. Add your preferred sweetener, if required, and blend for another 30 seconds. Pour the finished matcha into a glass with ice and enjoy.
Pumpkin spiced latte
Seemingly complicated coffee recipes can be replicated at home, and a pumpkin spiced latte is no exception of this. This recipe is delicious and can be made in a short time period too.
Blend hot milk, sugar, vanilla extract, and ½ teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice until frothy. If you want a more coffee-shop touch, you can always top the latte with a whipped topping and pumpkin pie spice.
