With Christmas quickly approaching many of us are thinking about what we can get our friends and family this holiday season. Sport Editor, Jasmine Trapnell finds some gift ideas of varying prices (with examples) for those people who love to work out.
Clothing & Accessories
- Socks. A cheap and simple gift, whether they are plain white or colourful, you can never have enough socks!

- Oversized t-shirt. Often called a pump cover, oversized t-shirts are comfy and perfect for working out.

- Scrunchies and claw clips. Those of us with longer hair often want it out of our face when we work out – satin scrunchies are great for protecting your hair whilst tying it up.

- Gym bag. Having a separate gym bag to keep all your workout gear together makes leaving the house so much quicker and easier.

Fitness Accessories:
- Yoga mat. Many of us know how important stretching is but still do not do it enough, having a yoga mat makes stretching much comfier. It can also be taken to any yoga classes at your gym you may attend to increase comfort.
- Lifting straps. Recommended for those who are finding their grip strength is restricting them in the gym with exercises such as deadlift.

- Lifting belt. A lifting belt provides support for your back when lifting, to help you get the most out of your gym sessions.
- Liquid chalk. Many gyms restrict the use of chalk due to the mess it creates, however liquid chalk has all the same benefits with none of the mess!
- Foam roller or massage ball. When building muscle often you can develop tight spots and knots – foam rollers and massage balls can help to ease these.
- Massage gun. Similar to a foam roller/ massage ball, massage guns help to ease tight spots but can work a lot deeper into the muscle and can be easier to get into certain muscles with than a foam roller/ massage ball.

- Skipping rope. A popular method of warming up or doing cardio – skipping ropes are an effortless way to bring your workout with you wherever you go.
- Towel. No one likes going over to a machine with sweat on it from the last user, having a gym towel can be handy for those sweaty workouts.
- Resistance bands. These are a versatile accessory that can assist with targeting muscle groups or assisting you with your workout.

- Water bottle. You cannot go to the gym without a water bottle, from 2 Litre bottles, insulated bottles, and ones with straws there are many to choose from.
- Sports massage gift card. A sports massage can be painful, but they are great for loosening up your muscles and preventing injuries. A gift card for a sports massage with a local sports massage therapist is a great, unique gift.
Food and Nutrition:
- Clear protein powder. It is quite common for gym goers to take protein powder to maximise their gains. Clear whey is a popular option as it is mixed with water and imitates squash, making it easier to drink than your typical protein shake.
- Cookbook. Food is fuel, and as such those who enjoy working out can often enjoy cooking. But finding new recipes can be hard, so why not gift a cookbook this holiday season.
- Protein snacks. Finding tasty snacks that are high in protein is not easy. But this Christmas you can give them some new ones to try, and you never know you could find their new favourite snack!
