11350514_10153246500460675_6870702724487434534_nWelfare and Diversity have been working all year to set up Loughborough’s first ever Nightline call service. After a lot of hard work, recruiting, training, meetings and attendance at Welfare events, tonight will see the launch of the service.

Loughborough Nightline is a new association hosting its own committee and group of volunteers seeking to help the students of Loughborough throughout the night, when you might not have anyone to talk to! The phone lines will be open 8pm-8am on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights, ready to accept your calls anonymously.

If you need someone to talk to about things such as stress, exams worries, or are just generally feeling down, this anonymous service will enable you to conceal your identity from those at the other end of the line, but will be there as a friendly voice, ready to listen to you.

Label spoke to Isobel Ford, VP Welfare and Diversity about the launch of the association this evening:

We are really excited for Nightline to launch this evening. It is amazing that this vital service hasn’t been in Loughborough before. We really hope it will benefit the students and support them through their time at university.

The committee and recruited volunteers have all been fully trained to deal with your needs and will be available for you three nights a week throughout university term time. You can ‘like’ Nightline on Facebook here and call them on 01509 227 650.
