- Assistant Editor

Duties and responsibilities:
- Support the Editor in maintaining Label. For example, making sure the article-posting sheet is up to date.
- Manage and update Label’s social media presence.
- Take committee meeting minutes.
- Organise Label committee and volunteer socials.
- Be confident, organised and reliable.
- An approachable person for members of committee to feel comfortable with.
Opportunities:
- Develop knowledge of the journalism industry.
- Gain knowledge of every aspect of how a magazine runs.
- Steer the direction of the Label brand.
Useful previous experience:
- Team leadership skills
- Supervisory skills beneficial
- Good journalism skills
Average time commitment:
- Around 10 hours per week plus additional time in the run up to each of the special editions.
- Additional time during busy periods such as Exec Elections and Freshers’
Responsible to: Media Chair, Label Editor
- Head of Design

Duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for the design of Label’s articles
- Manage the creation of posters to advertise Label
- Correspond with editors to see what articles are coming in the next 3-4 weeks
- Liaise with the LSU Media Head of Marketing & Design to provide training for Label Design volunteers
- Attend committee meetings
Opportunities:
- Chance to work creatively outside of your degree.
- Have your work and creativity published, which can be shown in a design portfolio.
- A great addition to a CV.
- Learning how to manage a team and gaining time management skills.
Useful previous experience:
- A knowledge of InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop.
- Experience designing for Label magazine, in order to know the process and time frames.
Average time commitment:
- Around 10 hours per week plus additional time in the run up to each of the special editions.
- Additional time during Exec Elections.
Responsible to: Media Chair, Label Editor.
- Assistant Head of Design

Duties and responsibilities:
- Support the head of design by assisting with posters, creating pieces of artwork and maintaining the design of Label
- Posting briefs to the Label design volunteers page
- Attend committee meetings
Opportunities:
- Chance to work creatively outside of your degree.
- Have your work and creativity published, which can be shown in a design portfolio.
- A great addition to a CV.
- Learning how to manage a team and gaining time management skills.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Create and post briefs on a monthly basis for Label volunteers
- Alongside the Editor, contact literary and art events to attend and review, to promote to students
- Have a good knowledge on literature and arts to know what is trending and up and coming
- Attend committee meetings

- Have work published in print and online.
- To work closely with other media sections and gain a greater understanding of other media outlets and the running of the Students Union.
- A chance to expand on creativity and push your section in new and different directions.

Average time commitment:

- Entertainment Editor

Duties and responsibilities:
- Create and post briefs on a monthly basis for Label volunteers on events which have occurred across campus and globally in that month
- Alongside the Editor, contact events in and around Loughborough to review or promote.
- Have a sound knowledge in different types of entertainment from celebrity gossip, to cinema and TV
- Attend committee meetings
Opportunities:
- Learn how to manage a group and work within in a team.
- Have work published in print and online.
- To work closely with other media sections and gain a greater understanding of other media outlets and the running of the Students Union.
- A chance to expand on creativity and push your section in new and different directions.
Useful previous experience:
- An interest in different aspects of entertainment as it is a varied section.
- An interest and skill in writing and editing.
- To have written for Label Magazine/another publication/personal blog etc.

- Features Editor

Duties and responsibilities:
- Create and post imaginative briefs on a monthly basis for Label volunteers which are topical and informative for readers
- Understand Features at Label (to focus on the personal experience)
- Attend committee meetings
Opportunities:
- Learn how to manage a group and work within in a team.
- Have work published in print and online.
- To work closely with other media sections and gain a greater understanding of other media outlets and the running of the Students Union.
- A chance to expand on creativity and push your section in new and different directions.
Useful previous experience:
- An interest in different aspects of features as it is a varied section.
- An interest and skill in writing and editing.
- To have written for Label Magazine/another publication/personal blog etc.

- Music Editor

Duties and responsibilities:
- Create and post briefs on a monthly basis for Label volunteers on popular musicians, new album/singles and who to watch in that month
- Alongside the Editor, contact music events to attend and review
- Be reliable, confident and approachable with committee members and volunteers
- Attend committee meetings
Opportunities:
- Learn how to manage a group and work within in a team.
- Have work published in print and online.
- To work closely with other media sections and gain a greater understanding of other media outlets and the running of the Students Union.
- A chance to expand on creativity and push your section in new and different directions.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Create and post briefs on a monthly basis for Label volunteers based on the newsworthy stories from that month
- Alongside the Editor, decide what is breaking news and devise a way in which to quickly get out a news story by one of our committee or volunteers
- Attend committee meetings
Opportunities:
- Learn how to manage a group and work within in a team.
- Have work published in print and online.
- To work closely with other media sections and gain a greater understanding of other media outlets and the running of the Students Union.
- A chance to expand on creativity and push your section in new and different directions.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Create and post briefs on a monthly basis for Label volunteers
- Alongside the Editor, liaise with AU Exec, IMS Exec, LSUTV and Lens, to create match-day or event articles
- Promote the sporting achievements of Loughborough students through articles, alongside presenting achievements of UK and global sport.
- Attend committee meetings
Opportunities:
- Learn how to manage a group and work within in a team.
- Have work published in print and online.
- The chance to have a first hand insight into the world of sport journalism and broadcast.
- To work closely with other media sections and gain a greater understanding of other media outlets and the running of the Students Union.
Useful previous experience:
- An interest in Sport/Loughborough Sport.
- An interest and skill in writing and editing.
- To have written for Label Magazine/another publication/personal blog etc.
Average time commitment:

- Additional time during Exec Elections and large sports events such as D-Day.
