Flashback Friday: The New Year Chart Show

0

It’s that time of year again! Since we’re in December, the countdown to the Christmas number one is well and truly upon us. So in the spirit of celebrating Christmas till we’re sick of it, this December we’ll be bringing you many a Christmas number one to get you into the festive mood (reindeer jumpers and all…)

Up this week: ‘Rock DJ’ – Robbie Williams

We’re ringing in the New Year with another flashback that’s suitably celebratory (and likely to make you nostalgic for the school discos we all know and pretend we didn’t love) with Robbie Williams ‘Rock DJ’.

The millennium classic reached Number 1 in August 2000 for just one week (let’s be honest it deserved to hold it for much longer). However it’s addictive noughties beat means it’s still a firm favourite with our generation even today.

Combining easily memorisable lyrics with a fun dance beat, ‘Rock DJ’ is a song that is sure to put you in the party mood, perfectly embodying that New Years Eve feeling, especially when you get onto your third glass of flat champagne. Plus who doesn’t enjoy a bit of Robbie Williams? Don’t lie, we know you do.

So when you’re picking over leftover Christmas snacks, hankering for a song to put you in the mood, look no further than Robbie Williams ‘Rock DJ’ and bring back your school disco days this New Years Eve.
