Its fair to say everyone loves a good Christmas song and hearing Christmas covers from your favourite artists always puts you in a good mood (well it does for me anyway). The Girl and the Dreamcatcher it seems, are no different. Even though they have now broken up, it doesn’t mean their music disappears altogether and their two Christmas covers deserve to be, well, covered.

Released in quick succession, just 6 days apart, The Girl and the Dreamcatcher covered two very different songs, ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ and ‘All I want for Christmas is You’. Starting first with ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’, the duo mix amazing vocal harmony with a fun, upbeat and unique arrangement that is guaranteed to put you in a feel good Christmas mood.

Swapping to something entirely different for their next cover, ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ presents us with a stripped back rendition, using just a piano accompaniment to showcase their vocal ability in true 1940’s Hollywood glamour style. It’s perfect for winter evenings, taking an age-old classic and reinventing it, with subtle nuances in the performance that make it their own.

So whether you’re in the mood for Christmas fun, or for some smooth listening be sure to put The Girl and the Dreamcatcher on your list this holidays!
