According to newspaper reports, the Manchester foursome is expected to release their third studio album in the upcoming summer months. With 20 years since gone their last recording, this would prove to be the bands first release of studio material since they reformed in 2012.

With speculation rife, and live dates set, the hint of a third album has circulated for a number of years. Speaking in 2013, lead guitarist John Squire damped any reports of a release, noting that any new material would take, at least, ‘five years to complete’.

However, with fresh sources revealing to The Mirror that album three is very much on the way, and with claims the boys ‘feel that the time is right’, the long anticipated LP may be on the cards.

Whilst nothing as yet confirmed, we wait, with baited breath in the hope that Ian, John, Mani and Reni will deliver new music to coincide with their hyped up tour that sees them play a number of live dates, including four nights at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, as well as taking one of the headline spots at T in the Park in July.
