Loughborough University has been shortlisted for the Times Higher Education ‘University of the Year’ award, which recognises exceptional academic performances over the past academic year. Additionally Loughborough has been shortlisted for the ‘Entrepreneurial University of the Year’ category, which celebrates an enterprise culture at universities across the country.

This could potentially be Loughborough’s 2nd ‘University of the Year’ award of 2015 after it was awarded the accolade at this years “What Uni?” Student Choice Awards. This along with Loughborough’s 5-star rating on the international QS stars scheme and the upcoming additional campus to be opened in London’s Olympic Park, seem to set Loughborough in good stead to take home this year’s award.

Other Universities on the shortlist include the University of Glasgow and the University of Kent, whilst the entrepreneurial shortlist sees Universities such as Nottingham and Lincoln competing against Loughborough for the award.

The awards ceremony will take place on the 26 November 2015 at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London and is expected to be attended by more than 1000 guests. With Loughborough’s increasing success at academic award events perhaps this will be the year that they attain one of higher education’s top accolades.
