Everyone wants to look and feel great around this festive time of year, so take a look at our top three trends and look as amazing as you feel this Christmas!

1.     Decadence – Lace and Leather

This winter why not indulge yourself? Lace is an autumn/winter trend which is revisited every year, yet is always going to make a statement. Such decadent luxury living is what so many of us today are striving for! Leather and Lace are two of this season’s top contrasting trends, and the lace party dress is going to be everywhere this Christmas and New Year. Following Louis Vuitton’s autumn black lace runway dress, the high street has made the trend affordable and popular, so if you have a black lace dress, now is the time to wear it! Leather is another one of my favourite trend around this season, it will never let you down in these gloomy wintery months, however this year it’s not all about the leather jacket. Leather skirts and tops are all over the high street this year, and Topshop’s quilted leather skirt is number one on my Christmas list.

2.     Tartan Take over!

Tartan is literally everywhere this season. Tartan dresses, tops, trousers and shorts have taken over the convention tartan scarf which we’ve all grown to love. Karl Lagerfeld was the first to endorse tartan this season and it now seems that everyone has jumper on board. Topshop, Missguided and New Look have enormous ranges of tartan items at a student friendly price, so why not take inspiration from the gorgeous Kate Middleton and spoil yourself with some tartan treats this Christmas.

3.     Our Favourite Festive Colour

It’s time to get out the Christmas jumpers, the woolly hats and the knitted scarves… It’s nearly Christmas! Asos have the most adorable range of Christmas jumpers this year and personally I think it should be compulsory to buy one! However if this is a little too cheesy for you then why not get festive by wearing red? Red is the perfect Christmassy colour, not just because Father Christmas wears a red suit, but because it’s warm, flattering and bold. Why not make a statement on your Christmas nights out with a striking red dress whilst remaining bang on trend this season, or wrap up warm in some leggings and a bright red coat.

Most importantly whatever you wear this festive season, make sure you have a Merry Christmas!
