From Dad fads to fashion statements, Christmas jumpers are this winters must have!

Christmas will soon be here and with the season to be jolly comes the wardrobe. Yes, Christmas jumpers. A big woolly sweater with Santa printed on the front, just what you expect your Dad to be wearing. Although this year calls for a change… they are Dad fads no more! Is it possible Christmas jumpers have become fashionable? It's time to be cosy this Christmas.

Not only have the high street stores presented their line of winter woollies in their windows but celebs are even wearing them too. There was a time when if someone mentioned Christmas jumpers a flash back of 'Bridget Jones' Diary' would start to replay in my mind. The awkward moment when you realise the person you're parents are trying to set you up with (if that wasn't awkward enough) is wearing Rudolph stuck to their chest. And if you haven't seen the film, I highly recommend it. This year you can leave the cringing behind and embrace what that latest fashion trend has brought us.

The Christmas jumper craze has become massive. Online high street stores are dedicating pages especially for them, new designs are being thrown in the shops daily and if Gok Wan is wearing them, they must be in! If that wasn't enough, the Christmas jumper now even has its very own day (13th December if any of you are looking to get in the Christmas spirit). Convinced yet? The nation really has gone nuts for knits.

There's a Christmas jumper for everyone. Ranging from a reasonable £12 at Primark to a soft cashmere Marks & Spencer jumper; which best keep you warm for nearly £100! So whether you go all out or just buy a wacky woolly with a Christmas pud on the front, make sure you get one. On Christmas day, the whole country will be wearing their winter woolly. If there's one thing apart from the present giving and the carol singing that unites us this Christmas, why not let it be the Christmas jumper.
