VP Finance and Commercial Services Rory Mitchell has confirmed that the theme for this year's Loughborough University Grad Ball will be James Bond's Skyfall, after a landslide victory in the poll!

Skyfall beat out competition from Midsummer Night's Dream and Hollywood, as well as Pirates of the Caribbean; the theme for VP Finance Elect Zak Evans' previous Hazlerigg-Rutland Hall Chair campaign.

Talking to Rory Mitchell earlier today, he revealed, “Skyfall was the overwhelming choice. This year we graded the voting with two points for ‘completely liked’ on the rating scale, or minus two points for ‘completely disliked’. Skyfall received over 1000 points, whilst second place got minus 54!”

“I think it’s going to be really different to what people think when they hear James Bond, maybe relating more to Casino Royale, but we are most definitely going Skyfall… For something like Midsummer Night’s Dream, which I voted for, we could have had some absolutely amazing decorations, but Skyfall will make a welcome change to the designs of Harry Potter and Alice in Wonderland from previous years. Definitely going to be a very different Grad Ball.”

Mitchell also stated that the acts are “99% confirmed” for the Ball itself, but kept everything under wraps until they are officially revealed next week: “All I can say, like I said in (Union) Council, it is not a tribute act!”

Tickets for the Grad Ball 2013 will go on sale on Saturday May 25th, and the price for this year’s Ball plus all of the headline acts will be revealed on LSUTV and Label next week. So keep you eyes peeled for the latest new on Grad Ball 2013 or #SkyBall
