Got that feeling that unfortunately this year you’ll be able to get out of your room for Valentines cards and gifts? Do not fear, if you’ve been unlucky in love this year this February 14th sees the chance for redemption, as the Welfare and Diversity Team hold a Speed Dating event for anyone and everyone to attend!

Taking place in Piazza from 7.30pm to 8.30pm, the evening provides an opportunity for students to get to know someone they’ve had their eye on or may have never even clocked before, all for free! The event offers the opportunity to meet others in a friendly situation without the disruption that loud music or lack of complete sobriety can encourage.

Label spoke to Sexual Health Co-ordinator Hayley Smith in anticipation of the event, who maintains that “the idea is trying to encourage healthy relationships that start in the right way. As we all know at University things can often happen backwards and you can end up sleeping with someone before you know anything about them. It’s a non-profit event and is a great chance to meet some new people, so everyone should being their friends and come down for a bit!”
