After two days of rigorous auditions, the final list of acts performing at FreeFest 2012 has been revealed. This year featuring three stages; bands, acoustic acts and rappers will perform on the Main Stage, Fringe Stage and the Acoustic Stage in Piazza.

The headline acts hit Rigg Rutt Lawn, whilst last year’s ‘Fringe Fest’ is replaced with a Fringe Stage in Piazza. But what’s the mysterious construction work going on at the Union? As well as the reconstruction and relaying of the lawn, a new performance area is being constructed, making its debut as the outdoor Acoustic Stage on the Bank Holiday Monday.

On Bank Holiday Monday May 7, get yourselves down to the Union for a day of music and various daring Rag events. The Radiothon will also be running throughout the day, providing live coverage of the festival to those not able to be there, whilst raising money for Rainbows children’s charity.

This year also sees many of LSU’s Societies getting involved on the indoor Fringe Stage, with the likes of Tuxedo Swing, Breakdance, Pole Dance and Belly Dance all likely to come down to perform for those in Piaza.

On Thursday May 26, the Make Noise events produced the final act for this year’s festival from nine top quality acts, and the winner, Ralph, will take to the stage as 2012’s headline act!
