Jayde Savage has announced she is to resign her role of VP Education within the next month.

Savage, who was not due to leave her role until July 20, has been offered a job which is due to start on May  8.

In her most recent Exec Report, Savage wrote:

"I have been offered a job which is due to start on 8th May 2012, which means that I will be leaving in 3 (ish) weeks’ time. Unfortunately this is a fixed start date and cannot compromise which is frustrating as it is far earlier than I anticipated."

"However, as we all know how hard it is at the moment for graduates this is unfortunately an opportunity that I cannot pass on."

Union President, Rebecca Bridger, will be taking over the VP Education responsibilities in Savage's absence and assist in the handover to VP Education elect Lazar Zindovic in the summer.

On Savage's resignation, Bridger told Label:

"Myself and the rest of the executive team are incredibly happy for Jayde. She has been a fantastic member of the team, consistently going above and beyond in everything she's done. We wish her all the best in her new job and expect she will bring the same enthusiasm and drive to that as she has during her time at Loughborough Students' Union.

Bridger also commented on the success of Savage's 'Your Education' programme and the influence that this has had on the Programme Rep system.
