An instant music ban has been imposed against the proprietor (Infinite Leisure Ltd) of Mansion, Loughborough, after a Phonographic Performance Ltd (PPL) inspection revealed that the club had been playing some music without an appropriate licence. PPL collects and distributes money on behalf of record companies and performers. During the inspection the club is alleged to have played Scouting For Girls̢��‰�� She̢��‰��s So Lovely, Taio Cruz̢��‰��s Troublemaker and Bastille̢��‰��s Pompeii, all artists covered by PPL licences.

On Saturday 7 December, the Union̢��‰��s Shakespeare Society are hosting a charity Scavenger hunt. All the proceeds will be going to Rainbows Children’s Hospice. The scavenger hunt will start at 1pm outside the Union lawn and each group will be assigned a questionnaire to guide them through the hunt which will take place on and off campus.

Following the strike on October 31 by staff from universities across the country, a further strike is planned to take place tomorrow, December 3. It has come after university bosses offered a 1% pay increase at conciliation talks in November which was rejected.

On Thursday 21st November at 4:30pm members of Loughborough Students̢��‰�� ̢�����Time For Change̢��‰�� have organised a candlelight vigil to those hit by Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. It will take place at Rutland fountain (by the union) and there will be a few speakers and a few minutes silence. They would like as many people as possible to come along and show their support.
